My volunteer journey here at GLOCAL has been an extremely positive experience. Volunteering with constant support has connected me with like-minded individuals across Canada, expanding my knowledge of civic engagement, politics, and public concerns. GLOCAL's diverse volunteer tracks have enabled me to develop both personally and professionally, exploring important topics in the research track and refining my digital and communication skills in the communication track. Being involved with an organization that aligns with my own views through promoting civic engagement and information accessibility in a digitized environment has been one of the most unique but rewarding volunteer experiences I've had. I am excited to see what the rest of my volunteer journey here at GLOCAL will bring!

Volunteering with GLOCAL Foundation has allowed me to continue improving my transferable skills while immersing myself more meaningfully with civic engagement. Attending workshops led by politicians and hearing their stories inspired me to find ways to be more civically minded, while listening and learning from experts in fields such as Geographic Information System, User Interface/Experience, and those with lived experiences as Canadians with multiple ancestries opened horizons for me personally and professionally. More directly, doing social media tasks has kept my creativity flowing, participating in data tasks has imparted me more knowledge about local governments outside of Alberta, and having spent most of my time contributing to the Ask Beaver series has given me invaluable opportunities to communicate and network with my local politicians while expanding the political knowledge base for my fellow volunteers and Canadian.

The Social Media track at GLOCAL has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of the dynamic digital landscape. Through a combination of theoretical frameworks and practical applications, this program has equipped me with a comprehensive skill set to navigate and excel in the world of social media. The interdisciplinary approach allowed me to explore the sociocultural implications of digital platforms while also gaining hands-on experience in content creation, data analysis, and audience engagement strategies. Moreover, the diverse cohort of students from around the world has enriched my perspectives on global digital trends and cultural nuances. Overall, the Social Media track at GLOCAL has not only expanded my knowledge but also provided me with valuable tools and insights to thrive in the ever-evolving realm of social media marketing and communication.

Embarking on volunteer work at GLOCAL'S social media track has truly been an incredible personal journey of discovery. Mastering digital communication to expressing unique creativity through design, it's all about unwavering commitment, dedication, and embracing endless online opportunities.

GLOCAL has offered me, along with many other Canadians, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase our creative talents through their microgrants incentive. This project has helped me grow in several different ways, and I wouldn't be able to do so without their help and time. The staff has provided constant support and encouraged me to consistently grow throughout this project.

Building my project has served as a bridge, attempting to satiate my and Canadians' hunger for knowledge regarding local composers and the music of Canada. It has challenged various of my skills, from hosting interviews to thorough research to website construction to graphic design. Moreover, working towards publishing my project has led me to appreciate the true power of connection. I am constantly in awe of the vast network of musicians and engaged Canadians from East to West. I can't wait to see what further growth my project will bring!

Working in this track at GLOCAL has been an incredible experience for me! Collaborating with team members has not only been amazing but has also been an important learning opportunity, given my interest in pursuing a career in a field like marketing. In my time volunteering with GLOCAL Foundation, I've delved into vital political and legal issues. National Youth Service Network (NYSN) offered a unique experience that greatly aided my post-secondary studies. My focus has been on Canadian legal compliance, and I've initiated a project on Canadian Copyright Law to enhance youth understanding. I wholeheartedly recommend GLOCAL for its enriching opportunities and supportive community.

My experience at GLOCAL has helped me grow in many ways, both personally and professionally. Working with people all over Canada in a growing community, especially during the age of technology, has helped me to develop as a person and learn along with others. I had a great experience at GLOCAL. The management was friendly and helpful when I needed assistance, and they would quickly respond by email. The research tasks that I did while I was there helped me learn about various refugee support groups throughout the country, and It was enjoyable doing my research and data entry jobs.

GLOCAL has been a great experience so far! I began my journey doing small tasks before transitioning into working on one larger project with a team leader. I think the opportunities for growth GLOCAL provides are truly unique and the support offered by the staff ensures that participants live up to their full potential. My experience at GLOCAL has been great because there are many opportunities to improve a variety of skills, and there are many people to support you on your volunteer journey. Additionally, since the volunteer work is fully remote, it allows us to connect with diverse people across Canada easily, getting to know them and working together with them. For instance, GLOCAL hosts many panel discussions on diaspora groups, providing a great opportunity to learn about them, their cultures, and their lived experiences in both their home countries and Canada. This is a valuable experience, as we still have limited access to such opportunities in schools or workplaces. Moreover, what I appreciate about GLOCAL is that volunteers can take on leadership roles, such as launching new projects, and GLOCAL always supports them in any way possible.

During my time here at the GLOCAL Foundation, I have grown into an individual who is consistently informed and committed to uncovering the social and political issues that prevail all throughout Canada. I came across their initiative while pursuing my undergraduate degree as a means of improving several foundational skills that I can implement into my academic career and, by extension, into the workforce. Working with GLOCAL has been an amazing experience. My supervisors have been incredibly supportive, offering clarification whenever I needed it, alongside insightful feedback on my work that I feel has helped me grow both as a video editor and researcher. The assignments I've worked on for GLOCAL have taught me a lot about Canadian affairs, along with weekly political discussions that serve to teach more about the country we live in. Embarking on a journey of volunteering as a Data Analyst at GLOCAL Foundation of Canada has been an enriching experience, with each contribution feeling like a purposeful brushstroke on the canvas of positive change. Commencing with the insightful orientation, my journey unfolded through active participation in the GLOCAL National Youth Service Network Challenge and tasks exploring Statistics Canada and local government websites. A standout moment was the special task-creating a Tableau visualisation of Canada's CPI trends. Cleaning data in Excel and utilising Tableau not only showcased my analytical skills but also contributed to a profound understanding of economic indicators. GLOCAL Foundation's unwavering commitment to digital civic engagement aligns seamlessly with my growth aspirations, providing continual opportunities for meaningful contributions. I take pride in being part of a movement that raises awareness about civic information accessibility and actively combats misinformation. This journey is an inspiration for young talents, encouraging them to contribute actively to building a more informed and engaged society.

Working for GLOCAL was a wonderful experience for me. It provided me with great work that engaged my mind and matched with my personal interests. It expanded on my research and data entry skills I developed throughout my education, which in turn boosted my confidence in my ability to do more online work. It introduced me to supportive supervisors that helped me along with every problem or question I had on my assignments and online set up. The work I performed taught me more about my country and how its organized, making me appreciate how much we can learn about the world around us through the transparency our government provides us. The weekly discussions were very informative and it gave me the chance to express my opinions on the issue at hand. This program made me feel like I was doing productive work, but more than that it helped me contribute to a goal worth supporting by keeping Canadians as informed to Canada's changing social and political situations as I am. This is a great business that all young workers should consider joining. They helped me to believe in my potential as a worker and as a part of the information network in Canada's online community.
